Linus Power MP Attends Leadership Workshop
Hills International College held its annual Leadership Workshop on Thursday 17th September for their current Year 5 students. The Leadership workshop commenced with a Q & A session with Head Of Primary, Mr Matt Noel, who discussed the qualities of good leadership and introduced the positions of captaincy available to the students. This was followed by a special presentation by Mr Linus Power, QLD State MP. Linus talked about his role in government, exploring the role of working as a team as well as prompting discussion on how leadership groups can support the community around them. Following this, the Year 5 students participated in a series of team-building and cooperation activities, facilitated by their teachers to promote communication, creativeness, motivation, support, trust and collaboration.
Head of Primary, Mr Matt Noel stated: “At Hills International College all Year 6 students play an integral role in connecting with their peers, being active listeners, support agencies and role models. Workshops like these, provide them with the skillset to be active and positive community members.”
Hills International College is always striving to create positive communities where everyone feels valued, safe and supported and more importantly, have a place where they belong.
