Grade Twelve Students Formal Given Go Ahead
After what has been a tough year for grade twelve students, there was finally a glimmer of sunshine last week with the Canterbury College Year 12 Formal going ahead.
Originally scheduled for March, the formal was postponed indefinitely, when Logan City went moved into social isolation and social distancing rules were put in place.
Six months on the formal went ahead with a strict COVID-19 plan in place in the grand ballroom at Brisbane City Hall.
There was no DJ, no dancing and no post formal party. Instead students were entertained with a magician.
Seventeen year old twins Angie and Alex Koranski both attended the long awaited event.
“It really has been a tough year for year twelve students” Alex said.
“We’ve had to navigate the new ATAR system and endure the added pressures associated with COVID-19” he said.
“I didn’t believe the formal would happen until we were in the Hummer on our way to Brisbane City Hall” Alex said.
With the third term of school now complete, year 12 students only have a few weeks before they face their final exams and walk out of school for the last time. We wish them well!
