Village Fair Shopping Centre & YFS Team Up
Each year, hundreds of families in Logan can’t afford to celebrate Christmas. That is why this year, Village Fair Shopping Centre is uniting with YFS, one of Logan’s longest running not-for-profit organisations for a Christmas Donation Drive to directly support locals who are doing it tough.
Anna-Maree Coco, Senior Asset Manager with First Asset Management said, ‘The surrounding community of Village Fair Shopping Centre is extremely supportive and we wanted to create a campaign which reflected this amazing sense of community. It was important we also partnered with an organisation not only based in the area but one who gave directly back to this community’.
‘YFS was the perfect choice. Having operated locally for the last 37 years, they are one of Logan’s longest running not-for-profit organisations delivering a range of services to the people of Logan and surrounds. They cater directly to people who are disadvantaged, vulnerable or want to improve their circumstance.’ Coco said.
Lending a hand is easy. Simply pick up a bag from the display located outside Drakes Supermarket. There is a list on the bag outlining the types of items that can be donated. These items include personal care, laundry items and school supplies.
Pop the items in the bag and place in the donation box.
These items will be distributed by YFS to community members who have been identified as being in need. These could be escaping domestic and family violence, be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, living below the poverty line or finding the pressure of life too challenging.
Every donation will help in getting someone’s life on track and also spread some much-needed festive cheer.
