River Link Connects Town To River Estate
The Logan Village community is better connected with the opening of the new $1.2million River Link.
The link, which connects the town centre to the My Home and The River estate, consists of a 2.5 metre-wide concrete pathway, bridge and connection under the Geoff Philp bridge.
City Lifestyle Chair and Division 4 Councillor Laurie Koranski said the Logan Village River Link is a huge win for local residents.
“At the Logan Village Forum, the community told us they wanted safe places to walk and cycle and better connections through the Village” Cr Koranski said. “This project means locals and visitors can now stroll along the pathway, take in beautiful views of the river, explore our historic buildings, enjoy the playground on the Green and shop and dine in the Logan Village retail precinct”.
The River Link was funded through the $2 million Logan Village Implementation Fund. Councillor Koranski committed additional Division 4 Local Improvement Program funding to allow for the installation of safety cameras, additional lighting and tree planting to further support the project.
The Logan Village River Link will further connect with the Logan Village to Yarrabilba Rail Trail, now under construction, and due to open by the end of the year.
