8 Years Of Moon Observation In Tamborine
On Saturday, 16 October 2021, from 6pm to 9pm, at Woodstock, 231 Plunkett Road, Tamborine, the International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) will be held.
Supported by Youth Enterprise Trust, hosted by the Southern Astronomical Society, and presented by local Amateur Astronomer, Mr Bryan Pott, all are invited to come and view the Moon and the Night Sky through large telescopes!
International Observer the Moon Night (InOMN) is an annual worldwide event to encourage people to look up and take notice of our closest neighbour the Moon. Mr Bryan Pott, a local from Tamborine, and other keen Astronomers will be presenting the International Observe the Moon Night to the public to observe through a variety of their large telescopes to
see the MOON and other astronomical wonders.
This will be Bryan’s 8th year in organising this event for the Community – weather permitting in Tamborine! On entry a gold coin donation is appreciated, and a sausage sizzle will be available. All proceeds for the night will be for the Southern Astronomical Society (SAS) a non-for-profit
organisation who present Astronomy Nights to schools and other community organisations.
The event will comply as per Queensland Government requirements and adhere to COVID regulations. There will be sanitisers available at stations for use. Please keep safe.
