A commercial property upsurge is under way at Lendlease’s Yarrabilba community as brands take advantage of the region’s fast-growing population.
The most recent openings include a Snap Fitness gym, Auto Masters, Pets Domain and two additional childcare centres. Construction is under way on a highly anticipated $16 million tavern, specialist day hospital, Ultratune, Hoppys car wash, a leading restaurant chain and the community’s second Ampol service station.
In June, Lendlease revealed the Yarrabilba population had topped 10,000 residents. It also unveiled a massive new precinct, known as the Parks, unlocking vital land supply for the fast-growing Logan corridor.
Other future plans include a Town Centre with up to 50,000 square metre of core retail and other uses, and a 100+ hectare industry and business precinct.
Queensland business owner Ben Skubris is just one of several developers active in Yarrabilba and has been partnering with Lendlease for the past 12 years. Mr Skubris saw the community’s long-term investment potential from the outset, purchasing property for Stages 1, 2 and now 3 of Storage King and Stages 1 and 2 of Vue commercial office precinct and apartment complex.
The $11 billion Yarrabilba community was first launched nine years ago and will ultimately provide homes for around 45,000 people and approximately 13,000 jobs on completion.
At 2,029 hectares – just under half the size of Cairns – Yarrabilba is already a thriving, modern township with four schools, four childcare centres, health services, a Coles supermarket, restaurants, cafes and sports fields and employment hubs.
Lendlease Head of Queensland Communities, Ian Murray comments:
“We’ve seen a lot of interest from big national brands such as Storage King, Bridgestone, Ultra Tune, Snap Fitness, Anytime Fitness and Ampol investing in Yarrabilba.
“Over the last 12 months, we’ve witnessed a very active commercial market with a lot of interest from developers.
“As one of the fastest growing residential communities in the region, local residents can be excited by the prospect of more services and amenities to meet their needs, as well as more job prospects.”
Queensland Developer Ben Skubris says:
“Now is the time to invest in Yarrabilba. If you aren’t investing now, you might miss the boat.
“As the population increases in the region, there is a need for more services, creating the ultimate live, work and play community. We are on the cusp of a construction boom as solid inquiry for land continues to roll in.”
