Mobile Police Beat visits Cornubia

A Mobile Police Beat is a ‘police station on wheels’, giving the community immediate access to police at major events, investigations or at local crime hot spots.

Cornubia residents and shoppers were given access to the Logan District Mobile Police Beat from the convenience of the Cornubia Shopping Centre carpark on November 23.

Community members approached and engaged with police while the beat was in attendance.

Mobile Police Beats are borderless policing in action, allowing local police to deploy services quickly and efficiently.

Traditionally used at major events and incidents, the ongoing rollout of Mobile Police Beats allows local police to deploy services where they are needed most, responding to changes in crime, trends and community concerns.

The Mobile Police Beat will continue to be deployed across Logan District at places of need and in response to community concerns as they arise.

The visit to Cornubia Shopping Centre was a great opportunity for the Queensland Police Service to partner with Logan City Council and share crime prevention materials and information with attendees.

Senior Sergeant Jacinta Pannowitz, Officer in Charge of Loganholme Police Station, said the Mobile Police Beat was welcomed by business owners and community members.

“The Mobile Police Beat is a fantastic asset for the Logan community,” Senior Sergeant Pannowitz said.

“This is the first of many deployments for the beat in the Loganholme Division moving into the future.”
