Mayor Darren Power has extended his best wishes to City of Logan residents for the holiday season.
“After another busy year in our city I am looking forward to seeing our community relax and enjoy some well-earned time together,” Cr Power said.
“I also encourage everyone to support our city’s great community organisations and businesses where they can, as they celebrate with friends and family.”
City Lifestyle Chair Councillor Laurie Koranski encouraged residents to attend a local community celebration.
“It is definitely time to enjoy some festive fun together as we prepare for the new year,” Cr Koranski said.
A popular choice for family friendly fun will be the City of Logan Christmas Carols at Griffith University’s Meadowbrook campus on Saturday, December 11 from 3pm.
The evening of music, food and fun will be particularly enchanting for the city’s youngest residents, who will have the chance to see Santa and popular TV characters Bluey and Bingo.
To ensure no one has to travel too far to join in the Christmas fun, Logan City Council and other organisations will host various celebrations across the city.

Logan Central
A Christmas market will complement the opening of the December round of
exhibitions at the Logan Art Gallery this Saturday, December 4.
A handmade market will run outside the gallery from 8am until noon, while ‘Logan Treasures’ – an arts, crafts and design pop-up store which is part of the new exhibition round – will host artist’s demonstrations from 10am until 1pm.
The exhibition opening, which will run from 2pm until 4pm, will also feature the launch of the Freedom Train Community Choir’s new album. Registrations for the event are essential and can be made on the Logan Arts website.
The Logan Art Gallery is on the corner of Jacaranda Avenue and Wembley Road in Logan Central.
Jimboomba
The Jimboomba Christmas Brigade will spread joy in the city’s south west on Friday, December 10.
Santa will travel down Cusack Lane courtesy of the Jimboomba Fire Brigade from 5pm, shortly before Christmas Carols hosted by JC Family Church begin in Rotary Park.
Face painting and other festive activities organised by the Jimboomba Rotary Club will also be enjoyed at the park, while Jimboomba Quota hosts arts & crafts activities in nearby Dorrington House.
A special showing of the family movie The Grinch will begin in Rotary Park from 6.30pm. Dinner and snacks will be available from a variety of food trucks.

Beenleigh
On Saturday, December 11, those in Beenleigh and surrounds can enjoy at night of Christmas entertainment at the Beenleigh Town Square.
Interactive big screen games and face painting will be on offer from 4pm, while a community performance by the Step Right Dance Group will begin at 4.30pm.
A Children’s Christmas Show will start at 5pm, before the family film Elliot The Littlest Reindeer plays on the big screen from 6pm.
Food and drink will be available from food trucks, or from local takeaway stores.
Attendees should bring a chair or picnic rug and dress in their festive best for the event.
Logan Village
A Family Fun Afternoon, hosted by the Logan Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Logan Village Community Centre, will be held at the Logan Village Green on Saturday, December 4.
The event, which begins at 4pm, will include market stalls, games, a barbecue and a screening of The Santa Clause.
Priestdale
A Christmas carols and a festive-themed market will be held from 4pm until 8pm in Underwood Park on Saturday, December 11.
Attendees will be able to purchase food and drinks from a range of trucks and market stalls. Children can look forward to a special visit from Santa.
Greenbank
A Christmas concert and fireworks will be held in Everleigh Park from 5.30pm until 8pm on Sunday, December 12.
The event will feature live music and a Santa experience. Tickets must be purchased online via Eventbrite.
Others
The KP Community Twilight Market will be on from 5pm tonight in the KP Centre carpark on Chatswood Road in Shailer Park, while on Saturday December 4, the Flagstone Community Carols will be held at the Flagstone Adventure Park from 4pm.
The Flagstone Twilight Stocking Filler Markets will also be held at Flagstone State School from 6pm on Saturday, December 11.
