Shark and Ray Gardens at Loganholme ahead of a KRANK school holiday shark wrangling session
Children dreaming of becoming marine biologists can wrangle sharks during Logan City Council’s June/July school holiday program.
Interactive education sessions for children and teens aged from seven to 17-years-old will be held at Loganholme’s Shark and Ray Gardens as part of Council’s KRANK School Holiday Program.
Sessions are between 1pm and 3.30pm on Tuesday, June 28 and Monday, July 4.
A shark and ray pat-and-play session will run from 10.50am to 11.50am on Sunday, July 10.
Registrations are essential for all sessions. The Shark and Ray Gardens are within Nielsen’s Native Nursery on Beenleigh Redland Bay Rd at Loganholme.
The upcoming KRANK program includes activities ranging from a ninja obstacle course and an outdoor rock-climbing wall to workshops for circus acts, glass fusing, extreme hip hop and mixed media art.
The program, which includes free and low-cost activities for children aged from five to 17, runs during school holidays from Saturday, June 25 until Sunday, July 10.

City Lifestyle Chair Councillor Laurie Koranski said KRANK offers indoor and outdoor activities.
“There will be no excuse for children to be bored with so many different and interesting activities on offer,” Cr Koranski said.
“KRANK is a much-loved Council program and activities usually book up extremely quickly, so we encourage people to book early.”
Division 10 Councillor Miriam Stemp said the Shark and Ray Gardens offered a unique educational experience.
“It will provide our KRANK participants with an amazing hands-on experience not available in many places,” Cr Stemp said.
“The site was inundated by floodwaters earlier this year and owner Paul (Baker) did a great job getting it ready for reopening.”
Bookings for all KRANK sessions open at 9am on Monday, June 13 and can be made directly via the service providers listed in the program booklet.
A limited number of printed activity booklets will be available from Logan Libraries and Council’s Customer Service centres at Jimboomba, Beenleigh and Logan Central.
