Ceremonies On The Beach To In The Bush …
Lisa Young has been a singer and piano player for over 30 years playing many venues in and around Brisbane. She had often thought about becoming a celebrant and in 2020 during Covid she decided to make that dream a reality.
It took 6 months of online training and an application process but on the 24th December 2020, she received confirmation that she was successful and was now registered as an Authorised Marriage Celebrant.
Lisa had sung at many weddings before becoming a celebrant and thought it would be great to combine her music experience with being a celebrant. The Singing Celebrant was born!
“People sometimes get confused and think that I sing the whole ceremony, but this not the case. I sing before the ceremony starts while guests are arriving, the entrance of the bridal party and at the end of the ceremony when the wedding party leave. I can also sing at the reception.”
Since becoming a celebrant Lisa has officiated many different wedding ceremonies from ceremonies on the beach to ceremonies in the bush.
In September 2022 Lisa officiated the first wedding ceremony on the P&O Encounter. “It was a beautiful ceremony on the deck of the ship with 40 guests. It was such an amazing experience!”
