For Term 3 At San Damiano College…
San Damiano College is right into the swing of things for Term 3 now that we are out of lockdown. Like all other schools, we had week where students were learning from home. All of our staff and students responded magnificently to the situation with the result that there was virtually no
effect upon the curriculum.
During this term, we have seen a number of new experiences for our students.
Some of the more memorable events this term are:
Food Studies – Students have learnt the skills involved in creating simple, yet satisfying food. They have created omelettes, pancakes and fudge brownies. All of the students are enjoying the thrill of preparing their food and gaining skills that will last them throughout their lives.
Herb Garden – One group of students have undertaken a project to create a herb garden. We have created a number of beds and will shortly complete filling them with soil, before planting herbs and vegetables.
Candle Making – Another group are making their own custom scented candles.
Bookweek – Friday 27th August sees the culmination of Bookweek. To celebrate, students will wear costumes representing their favourite literary characters.
Numbers are filling up, but places are still available for Year 7 and Year 8 in 2022 at San Damiano College. If you would like a personal tour of the college, please do not hesitate to contact the Principal Peter Edwards. He would be very pleased to meet you and explain the many benefits of our
college.
