Lions Club Of Logan Village Changeover Dinner
The Club’s Annual Changeover Dinner was held on Saturday July 2nd at the Lions Community Hall our guest of honour was outgoing District Governor IPDG-Nicole Phillips, who was also to induct 3 new members for the club and install the new committee.
The evening commenced at 18:15 with Lion Colin as MC for the night, proceedings started with the toast to Queen and Country, Lions Objects and Lions Ethics, MC Colin then asked outgoing President Wayne to take the podium
IPP Wayne gave his report of his term in office and then presented the clubs donations to the following community groups:
- Legacy Australia
- Logan Village Girl Guides Group
- Logan Village Scout Group
- On The Edge Charity Group
- Logan Village Community Centre
- Beenleigh Special School
- Pink Stumps Day Organisation
IPP Wayne then presented awards to club members:
Presidents Appreciation Award (for outstanding service to the club and community) awarded to Lions Phil Notaro, Lauris Lucciannio, and Colin Oboe.
James D Richardson Award (for special service to Lions, the club and community, John had overseen and undertaken the work on the Den and Hall over the last year or so, an outstanding achievement) awarded to Lion John “Watto” Watson.
Lions Club International Lifetime Membership – awarded to Lion Brad Hall (this is only awarded to Lions who have a long standing membership and have performed outstanding service to Lions over the years) Brad is truly worthy of this award.
MC Colin advised that dinner was to be served and all took their seats, the catering was by BBQ to you and the food was excellent, thank you to Lion Leonie for the dinner arrangements.
Lion Euan then introduced IPDG Nicole Phillips who was to induct new members and install the new committee.
IPDG Nicole gave a talk on Lions its objectives and aims and her term as DG, she then inducted the following into the Club.
Lions Doug Brice, David Seabrook, Peter Boyd, Nicole wished them well as new Lions and assured them they would be welcomed into the Lions Pride.
Nicole then installed the new committee members of the club:

- Immediate Past President (IPP) Wayne Freeland
- Secretary Lion Euan Stevens
- Treasurer Lion Tim Moyes
- Service Chair Lion Brad Hall
- Membership Chair Lion Steve Annels
- Lion Tamer Lion Colin Oboe
- Tail Twister Lion John Watson
Lion Euan thanked IPDG Nicole on behalf of the club for her attendance and inductions.
MC Lion Colin then asked incoming President Phil to give his address:
President Phil spoke on the vision he has for the club and his desire to undertake more grass roots Community projects and assist needy members of the community on an ongoing basis, (more on the projects in the Bulletin over the coming months).
MC Colin thanked President Phil and advised that the raffles would take place, some lucky winners and some not so lucky non-winners!
President Phil thanked Lions Tim, Noela, and Leonie for their great work in setting up the hall, organising raffles etc. and Phil also thanked all who had assisted with the night one way or another.
President thanked Lion Colin for his excellent job as MC for the night and asked all to enjoy themselves for the rest of the night.
The evening’s festivities finished around 21:30 and a good time was had by one and all!
