All That Was Left From Lockhead Plane Crash
Local resident Lee Wendt recently presented to the Logan Village Museum a framed copy of his story about the downing of a Lockhead fighter plane during WW2. Lee was a Maclean School student back then and came across the wreckage at Maclean on 5th July 1943 on his way home from school. In the morning of the next day he found it had been totally cleaned up! He discovered a US 1 cent coin in the ashes which he still has to this very day! Thank you Lee for sharing your story in a presentation to the Logan Village Museum.
