More than 700 people have provided suggestions and feedback ahead of design
starting for the Bethania to Logan Village Rail Trail.
A six-week community consultation period for the 10km trail ended earlier this month
and Logan City Council is now collating data from the online and in-person surveys.
City Lifestyle Chair and Division 4 Councillor Laurie Koranski said a summary of the
feedback would soon be reported back to the community.
“State MP Shannon Fentiman, Council officers and I have spent considerable time
listening to a range of ideas and suggestions, as well as concerns,” Cr Koranski said.
“I thank everyone who took the time to provide their feedback, which will be
invaluable as design work for the rail trail starts in November.
“When we have a draft design, we’ll engage with the community and there will be
further opportunities to provide feedback before construction starts in 2024.”

The $7 million project is jointly funded by Logan City Council and the Queensland
Government to boost tourism, recreation opportunities and local economies.
The trail will be located on the Bethania to Beaudesert railway corridor, which has
been vacant public land since trains stopped using the line in the 1990s.
It will link to the Logan Village to Yarrabilba Rail Trail, which opened last year, and
there is a longer-term proposal to extend the trail to Jimboomba and Beaudesert.
